Showdown: Negreanu vs. Persson

Daniel Negreanu and Eric Persson battled for some huge pots on Tuesday's High Stakes Poker show on PokerGO, and the former got the best of it.

The high roller poker players recently faced off heads-up on High Stakes Duel IV Round 1, with "DNegs" taking down the match for $100,000. Poker Club Opens with Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth is in Houston for the grand opening of the new Champions Club Texas, a poker room he co-founded at its previous location a couple years ago.

The club has 20 tables and will offer both tournaments and cash games.

Champions Club, formerly in a different area of town, is kicking off the opening of its new location in a big way with six days of high-stakes live-streamed poker that will feature some of the game's biggest stars, including Hellmuth, Shaun Deeb, Justin Young, Johnnie "Vibes" Moreno, and Dan "Jungleman" Cates, according to the card room's president, Isaac Trumbo.

The Lodge Poker Club: No Men Please

In late April, a man by the name of David Hughes entered and won a ladies event in Florida, prompting backlash from the poker community. While some states have laws in place that make it impossible to ban men from playing women’s-only tournaments, most agree that Hughes broke the unwritten rule that men stay away.

In response, businessman and high-stakes poker player Bill Perkins offered up a $50,000 prize pool overlay, teaming up with the Lodge Poker Club to host a ladies-only poker tournament in Round Rock, Texas. Perkins made it clear that there were “no men allowed.” Source: CardPlayer.com
